C O N S T I T U T I O N


The Canada-Japan Friendship Association

Decided on 1st Jan.1948

Revised on 15th July,1984
Revised on 21st March,1989
Revised on 31st March,1997

1. The association shall be called 'Canada-Japan Friendship Association'.

2. The aim of the association is to promote mutual understanding and good will between the
peoples of Canada and Japan.
 We learn and teach mutual culture, education, sports, welfare and economy in the world
and seek happiness of the human beings to walk together on the friendship road.

3, Members of the association shall consist of corporations and individuals who have interest in
Multiculture crossing and its understanding. Corporations and individuals defined above shall be eligible to membership subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.

4. Members shall elect Directors and Auditors who constitute the Board of Directors.The Board of Directors is the govering body of the association.President and vice-president(s)shall be elected from directors.

5. There shall be two categories of members:
Corporate members paying annual dues of \10,000
Individule members paying annual dues of \2,000

6.The association shall hold a General Meeting once a year and the following items shall be
submitted for discution:
(1)Budget and statement of accounts
(2)Alternation of the constitution of the Society
(3)Other important matters

7.The financial year of the Association shall begin on 1st January and terminate on 31st December of the year.





 This association was established by Rev.Canon Nakayama in 1948. He had had a lot of effort
to promote mutual understanding between the Japanese and the Canadian in Canada and in the
world by publishing and education.

From 1984 this association has sent friendship ambassadors to Canada,and also accepted Canadian
and students for their homestays in Japan.

In 1998 this association had an award of excellence of international programs 'Creating thr Mozaic Acelebration of Canadian Children's Culture-Simon Fraser University by Canadian Association for University Continuing Education.

This socity has promoted the Japanese people and foreign people living in Japan to learn
and study in secondary schools,college and universities in Canada.

To introduce Canada and the people, this association has had a lot of exibision of story-telling,
pictures and drawings,etc
